Green Gold Exposition
Welcome to the website for Learning Sustainability: Achieving Environmental, Social, and Economic Well-Being forum which will be taking place in beautiful Buffalo, New York at the Buffalo Convention Center, on October 10-13, 2001.
This website is growing and will be updated as needed.
The 4-day event will feature a number of globally recognized speakers and presenters including Jane Goodall, David Suzuki, Sylvia Earle, and Paul Hawken.
For more information on each of these individuals please refer to biography section of this website and the links which will connect you directly with their websites.
At the Learning Sustainability event, subtitled "A Regional Community Forum" we will be presenting global issues with a localized focus. We will be exploring three pillars of sustainability, "Science and Environment", "Economics and Business", and "Society".
Sustainability is a broad subject that touches all of our lives. It is about the future of our planet, our region, and our families. Careful planning must be done now to insure that we will not overuse the precious resources that currently nourish our quality of life.
Because it is so broad based, sustainability is a subject that we can all think about and find ways to make a difference, whether that is as an individual, a government, a business, or as a community. Choices that we make today, and the leadership that we develop regarding these critical choices will thoroughly impact the future.
The Learning Sustainability event will be held in conjunction with the centennial of the Pan American Exposition which was held in Buffalo in 1901, and will feature the future of social thought and economic development much like the Pan American featured and promoted the future a century ago.
I invite you to attend Learning Sustainability; Achieving Environmental Economic and Social Well-Being, and the concurrent Green Gold Business Exposition/2001, showcasing sustainable businesses, a part of our forum and also located at the Buffalo Convention Center.
We plan that this event will be the beginning of a wide discussion and action on issues of sustainability. This forum, is open to the public, will put us all on the path to globally recognized leadership, much like those planners of the Pan American Exposition dreamed of in 1901. Please come to this event, in October, in Buffalo New York, "Where Our Future Begins".
Thanks for visiting!
