The Learning Sustainability Campaign
-Promoting Environment, Society, and Economic Well Being
The October forum, located in Buffalo, New York, “Learning Sustainability, Achieving Environmental, Social, and Economic Well Being” is designed to be a starting point for a long term effort focused on promoting sustainable issues with a broad focus. Our intention is to both promote leadership and promote opportunities for sustainable planning and living.
There are many next steps that are being discussed and planned including the establishment of a regional, Binational Sustainability Council, and the creation of the Buffalo Declaration, which will help to create a baseline understanding of potential strategies to protect Great Lakes waters. You will here more about these at the Learning Sustainability Forum, and in the weeks and months to come. You will be asked to participate.
One of the prime objectives of the next part of our efforts is the Learning Sustainability Campaign.
The Learning Sustainability Campaign has two primary components.
-The first component is essentially a public relations campaign that promotes the creation of media, such as PSA’s for television and radio, print advertisements, newsletters, and promotes events around sustainability issues.
-The second component is that the Learning Sustainability Campaign and its members are offered as a resource for other communities, worldwide, to develop sustainability programs and plans.
